We’re full of ideas here at Confectionery HQ and because we’re all in the business of sharing the #lingerielove, we thought we’d share them with you….you’re welcome 😉
Lace and leather
Lacy gets racy this summer – show them you mean business by combining high-waisted statement trousers with a feminine and flirty lace corset or bustier. The block colour of the trousers really sets off the delicate skin-baring design of the bustier, meaning you can get your sass on AND retain an air of vulnerability.
Team it with a leather clutch and funky jacket to get the ultimate lace and leather look.
Cage it Up
Designs that incorporate caging and straps have been big news in the lingerie sector this year.
Drawing on bondage wear – with crossover details, strapping and laces – this fetish-inspired attire has worked its way into mainstream lingerie fashion and its popularity shows no sign of abating.
You can add an element of kinkiness to your look this summer with one of a range of strappy designs that are perfect to wear either as a solo piece that speaks for itself or under a sheer or mesh top. Because lingerie is meant to be seen – right?
Dreamgirl’s Emroidered Lace Black Bustier, which is shown here, is the perfect balance between underwear and outerwear. Team it with a pale skirt or trousers to get the look.
The Mighty Corset
Never out of fashion and constantly evolving – if there’s one piece of lingerie with unrivalled longevity, it’s the corset. This wardrobe staple has always played a supporting role, literally, but every now and again it takes centre stage and has its chance to shine.
Combine it with wide-leg trousers to accentuate a cinched in waist, and cropped turtle neck jumper to ensure the spotlight is solely on this ‘must-have’ item.
We love the simplicity of Coquette’s Boned Stretch Knit Corset, which is more than up to the challenge of playing a starring role.
The trend for luxury loungewear has grown significantly in 2017. Floaty, feminine and texturally stimulating – the use of luxury fabrics such as silk and satin have really brought this trend to the fore.
Give this look a romantic feel by focusing on nude or pale pink shades – you can also experiment by mixing and matching different textures to enhance the overall look.
Shirley of Hollywood’s Strap Lace and Mesh Teddy gives the perfect textural contrast to a floaty satin jacket or silk kimono. If you’re planning on wearing your lingerie as outerwear, you can’t go wrong with a pair of nude straight-leg trousers and some strappy heels.
